Dans cette constellation sans cesse en mouvement de labels et micro-labels indépendants, Hands in the Dark Records attise depuis cinq ans la curiosité des épris d’étrangeté. Modestement initié par Morgan et Onito, l’entité s’est toujours efforcée de stimuler notre ouïe avec une audace, une intégrité et une constance rares. Depuis sa première sortie, le premier album ouaté des Suédois de Death & Vanilla, le label a tracé une ligne sinueuse, offrant une audience toujours plus conséquente à des pépites telles que Cankun, Sacred Harp, Cough Cool, Johnny Hawaii, Lee Noble, Ensemble Economique ou The Oscillation. Si la liste est trop longue pour un recensement exhaustif, elle ne contient pas une faute de goût. Leur dernière sortie en date, Tomaga, promue dans nos colonnes, synthétise à elle seule toute la richesse de ce catalogue captivant et addictif. Il n’en fallait pas plus pour partir à la rencontre d’une des têtes pensantes de ce label tapi dans l’ombre, Morgan, passionné et passionnant. –Jérémy/Mowno
